The technical stuff

  • Preparation is key when it comes to adhession of the paint. We provide the total solution to keep things simple!

  • We don't cut corners with generic retail paint or entry-level sprayers. We utilize US-imported Graco machines for maximum precision and Damar M7-certified road marking paint. This paint is tested and approved for use on New Zealand roads.

  • The short answer: Longevity varies significantly depending on the surface type, environmental exposure, and traffic volume. While high-quality markings in low-traffic areas can remain vibrant for years, high-stress zones will naturally require more frequent maintenance.

    Key factors that influence durability:

    • Surface Preparation: This is the most critical factor. Markings applied to clean, prepared surfaces (free of moss, oil, and loose debris) achieve the best mechanical bond.

    • Traffic Patterns: "High-stress" movements, such as heavy vehicles turning in tight radiuses or forklift "pivot points," will wear paint faster than straight-line driving.

    • Mechanical Abrasion: Factors like pallet sliding, gravel, stone chips, or heavy machinery scraping the surface will accelerate wear regardless of paint quality.

Our Approach: During our site visit, we will assess your specific use case, whether it’s a quiet commercial car park or a high-intensity loading bay, to provide a realistic outlook on the expected service life. In most cases we provide a robust adhesion guarantee which will be outlined on your quotation.

  • The biggest factor to the dry time is temprature. On a nice sunny day you can expect your lines to be dry within 15-20 minutes. In winter conditions it can take longer (up to an hr).

We keep the areas coned off and if possible we like to keep the traffic flowing on your site if we can do so safely.

  • Line marking needs a dry surface to be properly adhered, so if the weather doesn't play ball, we’ll communicate with you early to reschedule for the next available clear window.

On the day

  • To ensure we achieve a sharp, long-lasting finish with minimal disruption to your operations, we require the following on the day of service:

    • Clear Access (where practical): The work area must be completely clear of parked vehicles, staff, and foot traffic for the duration of the job and the required drying time. We will cone off the work area and work with you and your team to safely complete the scope.

    • Surface Readiness: Any stock, pallets, or equipment must be moved off the areas to be line marked. While we provide surface preparation services, the area should be generally clear of heavy debris.

    • Dry Surfaces: Paint requires a dry surface to bond correctly. If the site is outdoors and there is standing water or heavy dew, we may need to delay the start to ensure the longevity of your markings.

    • Site Induction & H&S: If your site has specific Health & Safety requirements or a mandatory induction process, please let us know in advance so we can factor this into our arrival time.

    • A Site Contact: A designated person should be available (or reachable by phone) to field any small queries on the day such as access, weather delays etc.

  • The short answer: Yes. In the vast majority of cases, we can achieve a seamless match with your existing site markings.

Industry Standards: Most reputable line marking in New Zealand follows a specific set of industry-standard fonts and stencil dimensions designed for maximum visibility and H&S compliance. Approximately 95% of commercial and industrial sites utilise these standard layouts.

Colour Matching: We use NZ-certified M7 road-grade paints, which come in the standard palette used across the country:

    • Safety White & Yellow: For standard bays and directional markings.

    • Disabled Blue: For accessible parking compliance.

    • Fire & Hazard Red: For restricted zones and emergency access.

    • Pedestrian Green: For safe walkway delineations.

Custom Solutions: If your site features non-standard fonts, unique branding, or custom logos, we have the expertise to provide workarounds. During our on-site visit, we can discuss custom stencil fabrication or specialized layout techniques to ensure your brand identity is maintained without compromising on the quality or durability of the finish.

  • Yes, we know you can’t always shut down a busy loading dock or car park during the day, so we offer flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends, to get the job done without disrupting your operation.
